Marinated Pork (Bifanas)

Bifanas is a popular Portuguese Dish. These are most frequently eaten at football clubs and cafes in Portugal. In Portugal they serve the meat in a roll. You could also serve the marinated pork with a salad or roast vegetables as an easy dinner during the week. Bifanas are so delicious.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs boneless pork, cut evenly about a 1/4 inch thick
  • 2 teaspoons crushed garlic
  • 2 bay Leaves
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper
  • 1 ½ cup white wine
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon allspice
  • Fresh rolls

Method

Step 1

Put all ingredients in a bowl except pork and mix well.

Step 2

Add the pork to the bowl and Marinate overnight.

Step 3

Grill pork and serve as a sandwich or with rice.
