Portuguese Traditions
At the New year, there is a tradition you might see locals doing while watching the fireworks in Portugal.

Eating 12 Golden Raisins

Even if we don't like the taste of raisins, the Portuguese generally like to eat those small, golden dried grapes because it brings good luck and that's one way of ensuring that their dreams will come true.

Much like the Spanish and their grapes, one of the most iconic Portuguese traditions is to eat twelve raisins paired with sparkling wine. Some say it’s a raisin for each stroke of the clock at midnight, while others claim it’s for each month of the year. Whatever your belief, make sure you consciously make-a-wish as you devour each and every of the twelve grapes!

This recipe is packed with flavor. This amazing homemade recipe is tender and juicy with sweet and savory golden raisins.
